The good news:

  • Engagement and leadership development are front burner issues. Data suggests that the market for top talent is polarized: many companies have highly engaged cultures and just as many are highly disengaged. There is very little middle ground. Leaders will be evaluated on building an engaged team much like they are evaluated on results.
  • Corporate learning and HR are not keeping up. Watch for heavy investments in redesign and changing what these functions do. Analytics will drive the recommendations so any role in translating this data into action plans will be lucrative.
