Eating The Fruits of Our Labor

If you are like me, Labor Day here in the U.S. is different than the traditional holiday.  I don’t take off; it’s a day I can get more done with fewer interruptions.  If I am super productive, I’ll play hooky by leaving a couple hours early.

As entrepreneurs, our labor is not defined by how many hours we work.  It is defined by what happens as a result of our work, the fruit of our labor.  Here’s an idea:  let’s take this day not to stop and celebrate how hard we work, but to reflect on the impact of what we do.  Fond memories of the many people we help (and those who have helped us along the way).  The joy we get from doing what we are best at without dealing with a bureaucracy that many others have to tolerate.

And then…keep on doing what we do best.  Happy Labor Day — may the fruit of your labor taste sweet.
