Go Beyond the Words

The creative members of my family are all over Pinterest and have pushed me to join the fun.  While I love the shoe sections, I’ve shied away from using this channel for business, worried about the time commitment and unclear on the ROI.  This article makes me rethink my concerns.

First, you can’t argue with the reach.  Images are hot right now, and this platform has exploded in popularity.  According to industry stats, this channel can drive website traffic.  That leaves one last question:  what do you put up there?

Well, there is the obvious answer from the article:  data charts.  Bo-ring.  My idea from left field:  what images depict your idealized future?  What will your clients have (or be) as a result of your work?  Those are the images — along with your bright ideas — that go on your Pinterest page.

And the best part:  channels like Pinterest force us to use more than one way to express our value.  Yep, this is on my to-do list.
