Ignore the White Noise

Talk about dueling data.  In one corner we have the GBTA Foundation study released last month saying the fiscal cliff could (key word here:  could, not would) result in $20B loss in U.S. business travel.  In the other corner, we have the Meeting Professionals International October 2012 Business Barometer touting 66% of upbeat respondents on improving business conditions.  So which is it?  Do a happy dance or head for the hills?  Sheesh…

As a market analyst, I love research.  And…I don’t let it rule my business decisions.  My focus is on enhancing my own personal economy — and the economy of my clients.  Some — okay, a lot of this stuff is white noise.  Let’s put it in the proper place and move on.
