More Meeting Trends

Given that thought leaders use events to get the word out about their ideas, let’s round out January with this study of the top meeting trends for 2013 according to IMEX group.

Two trends you need to know about:

  • Evidence-based meeting formats.  Yep, neuroscience has entered the events space.  The result:  meetings built around the behaviors organizers want to see.  Buckle up:  this is gonna be a roller coaster ride.  This will be a way for planners to prove their value, so watch for some crazy ideas out there.  Just be aware that format changes are ahead and proceed accordingly.
  • Visual communications.  Watch for new approaches for messaging and communication.  Gamification will increase interaction and sharing; so will interaction charts and graphics.  The visual element will focus on stories, animation, video, etc.  Ask yourself:  how can my content be interactive?  How can I reduce my idea into a picture?  What can attendees DO with my content in real time that would add the biggest value?
