Social Media Options

Social media seems so complicated to me — like a marketing elephant I must eat one bite at a time.  After seeing this big-picture infographic on the digital landscape, I understand why.  What a complicated mess.

The chart depicts the biggest problem in social media:  too many options that change too often.  (Exhibit A:  Pinterest isn’t on here.)  The more choices we have, the more opportunities we have to make a wrong move.  And the more time we spend.

The next best step:  use this chart to first identify where you want to play.  Then check out the players.  Yes, we need to pay in this sandbox.  But we don’t have to conquer the entire playground.
