A Memorial Day Reflection

Wow. Where did the time go? I can’t believe we’re about to kick off summer with the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.

As usual, hubby and I are at the beach. As I sit listening to live music while waves crash onto the sand, I’m filled with gratitude for those whose sacrifice gave me the freedom to live my cushy life. Their families are on my mind and in my heart.

This spring, our government asked more soldiers to make that sacrifice. And they will bravely answer the call. The least we can do as a country is make sure the cause they die for is worthy of that gift.

Those in the military know what they sign up for. They understand the risk. It’s up to the rest of us to honor that willingness by ensuring the motive is worth the price.
