Thanksgiving 2020: Grateful for Just Hanging in There

During the COVID-19 pandemic, gratitude takes on new meaning. This Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for just hanging in there.

Wow. It’s Thanksgiving already. Time flies when we’re on a roller-coaster ride.

Once again, it will be a relatively quiet holiday for me: A nice meal with hubby. Calling family. Doing something for the sheer joy of it. Being reflective.

I’ve worked hard to practice appreciation daily. The big change for this year is how I define gratitude.

Over the years, I’ve been grateful for what I achieved or for what I have (relationships especially). It’s been around goals: business and personal. Thanks to COVID, I’m adding a new standard this Thanksgiving. I’m grateful for just hanging in there. And I thank the folks who took this wild ride with me.

As high achievers, we assume we must “do” all the time. What I’ve learned during this pandemic: In the midst of life-changing times, just hanging in there is a win. My vote: Let’s call 2020 a draw and look forward.
