I write a lot about the “curator” brand strategy that TED made famous. According to a recent article from Social Media Examiner, the same approach can be used to promote videos.

Yes, sharing resources is a great way to curate content. But let’s ask a bigger question: How can you stand out when you share other podcasts? How do you showcase your voice and your brand? My best suggestion: color commentary.

Here’s how it works: You take the most interesting aspect of a video and drill down. Why did this resonate with you? What is the impact of this lesson? What’s the ripple effect? Instead of merely sharing, use the content to create conversation.
