A lot of us are content-making machines. We publish articles, blog posts, videos, podcasts, and more every week.

A recent Inc. magazine article about trends for 2022 points out, however, that in the current content tsunami, having a solid base of material isn’t enough. You need to amplify yours and make it easy to find.

That means getting the word out. And no, simply posting links to your website on social media doesn’t count. Here are two things you can do to level up your game:

• Get quotable. Reach out beyond your fan base. Grow your voice and presence, and share your opinions in online groups. If you do, broader outlets will notice you—and may even quote you in articles. Find new outlets and start reaching out.

• Get found. SEO is a beast, and you can’t ignore it. Make sure your website is optimized for search engines so that your content shows up in search results. The effort doesn’t have to be perfect, but you need to try.

You likely have a strong content foundation. It’s time now to level up and use your content to build prominence.
