Companies’ budget cuts have impacted a lot of people. Employees have been laid off, and spending on high-priced products and services has been put on hold. But there’s a silver lining: Companies are leveraging smaller, niched influencers to help them focus on targeted audiences, according to an article in Insider Intelligence. Those are folks like you and me!

Move past the B2C focus of the article. The tactics buyers use to find niched influencers can apply in our B2B environment, too. We can be proactive by doing two things:

• Reaching out first: You don’t have to wait for big brands to notice that you follow them. You can initiate the conversation via social media and move up. Another target-rich environment: industry trade shows.

• Ruling the comment section: You likely post plenty of your own social posts. But how often do you comment on others’ posts? Posting comments can get others to notice you. So, make commenting a priority. You never know who is listening. Boosting your presence where your buyers are can create interesting conversations.
