Summertime. In Arizona, that means finding indoor entertainment to escape the record-breaking heat. One such adventure reminded me of what boldness really looks like.

Here’s what happened: During a timeout at a recent sporting event, the “awkward dad dance cam” found its next stars. These men were standing around acting perfectly normal until they spotted themselves on the jumbotron. Then they broke into dance. One even ripped off his shirt! That’s what swinging for the fences really looks like.

To be fair, it’s safe to assume alcohol may have played a role. But that willingness to be in on the joke and just go for broke in front of thousands of people? I think we all need that kind of self-assuredness.

So, the next time you have a chance to fully show up, tap into that courage. Swinging for the fences when only your ego is on the line is low-risk practice for high-stakes moments that require a bold move.
