You all know the power of FAQ pages on websites. They help new visitors and prospective buyers learn about you, your products, and your services. What you might not realize, though, is FAQs are powerful tools within your content marketing.

Google loves FAQs. The search engine giant scours the web looking for questions that searchers ask. It features the “best” answers in the top section of search results, and it puts links to what it considers the best resources at the top of search results. SEO treasure!

2 Types of Questions to Include in FAQs

If you want to include FAQs in your blog posts but are struggling to develop questions, here are two types of questions you can use:

• “What about” questions: “What about” questions are great for debunking assumptions and myths. Your answers can pinpoint differences and head off misunderstandings before they are set in stone. These types of questions also show you have your finger on the pulse of the market.

• “What if” questions: “What if” questions are great for revealing unintended consequences on what looks like a great idea. They allow you to showcase on-the-ground savvy with specific strategies that can implement what you suggest. The assumption here: I can help you navigate this high-stakes landscape.

FAQs are powerful, but under-used, content marketing tools. Don’t dismiss them. Using your talent to answer powerful questions can help potential buyers experience your value.
