From P!nk’s Stage to Your Office: Love Is the Ultimate Performance Enhancer
Valentine’s Day will soon be here, which has me thinking about the power of love in business environments.
For me, a strong example of love at work showed up at a P!nk concert I went to last fall. P!nk put on a full show, complete with dancers and acrobatics. The X factor, though, was her exuberance. You could tell she loved being there and performing. And that made the audience’s experience even more fun.
In the B2B services world, that level of joy arrives in two ways:
• Loving our clients: Enjoying the people we serve is one thing. Loving them during tough times is another. When you provide no-holds-barred support to your clients, you’re telling them that you are in their corner no matter what. In today’s volatile environments, providing that comfort is worth just as much as your perspective.
• Loving what we do: Passion drives perseverance. It creates excitement that turns mountains into molehills. It’s the many subtle ways that we tackle a project. Behind every unstoppable force is a deep passion for what you do.
Yes, you need to focus on the practical aspects of running a business, such as revenues and profit margins. Love, however, is the fuel that provides that extra boost when you need it most: during those times when you face tough conversations and choices. Love paves the way for you to be brave and bold.
