Often as a person gets more successful, they get flooded with offers from businesses and people saying they can help. They have services, strategies, tools, etc., and they all promise the same thing: growth.

It’s easy to reject offers that don’t fit with your plans or business ideas. The harder task: evaluating the ones that resonate with you.

How to Determine If Offers Are Right for You

Before you go all in and sign on the dotted line, ask yourself these two questions:

• What’s the real result here? Sometimes we want something because of what we think that will give us. Example: Authors hire a book promotion firm to get rave reviews, but what they really want is more book sales. Focusing on the end game opens your mind to other options (and helps answer the next question below).

• Does their approach work in my situation? Many folks have a one-size-fits-all process. That’s OK; it’s efficient. It’s up to you to determine if that system works for you, though. Don’t assume their tactics fits your needs.

Most of us do a good job asking the right questions before hiring an outside firm to help us. But you should go beyond the information these partners give and determine if you really need what they’re selling.
