Last month, I posted a gloom and doom report about events in 2022. For meetings that are still a go, MarketingProfs has a lot of ideas about sponsorship for the white-hot hybrid event model.  (Free registration required to read the article.) The good news: Their ideas apply to thought leaders.

Skip to the last section of the article. Two trends in our favor:

• Brand awareness is back. Sure, lead generation isn’t going anywhere on the list of success criteria. But sponsors are taking more interest in brand awareness as we all come out for events. This is great news for thought leaders who have an active community. Be sure to leverage that.

• Headliners are back. No, you don’t have to be a celebrity, but the pendulum is swinging back to the better-known speakers. Authors with popular books will get the inside track here.

Partnering with companies who want to engage attendees goes far beyond speaking fees. Think broader about what you can bring to the table. You have a lot more than killer content and cool storytelling.
